ÖZET
Bu çalışmada
Birinci Dünya Savaşı sonrasındaki bağımsızlık hareketinde;
Kuvay-i Milliye içerisindeki İslami düşüncelerin etkileri
ele alınmıştır. Bunun yanında “ümmet” anlayışından
“millet” anlayışına geçişinde hız kazandığını görmekteyiz.
1924-1925-1926 ve 1928 yılı ve sonrası reformları
incelenmiş, Demokrat Parti (DP) döneminde uygulanan din
ağırlıklı politikalar ele alınmıştır. Cumhuriyet Halk
Partisi’nin (CHP) sert tavrı, anayasanın laik yapısı,
DP’yi itidalli davranmaya sevk etmişse de 1954
seçimlerindeki ezici çoğunluğa sahip olması neticesinde
din ağırlıklı politikalarını sürdürmelerinin basında
yansımalarını incelemiştir.

ABSTRACT
This study
elaborates on the effects of Islamic thoughts during the
Independence Movements (National Forces) following the
World War I. There was a significant shift from the notion
of "ummah" to that of "nation (millet). This study
investigate the reforms during the years 1924 to 1926 and
the years following 1928 as well as the policies
concerning religion during the Post-World War Democratic
Party era. I analyze the Republican People's Party's
strict attitude toward religious policies and the
secularist character of the Constitution that forced the
Democratic Party to adopt moderate policies toward
religion and the resumption of the religious policies and
the media framing of these policies following the 1954
elections that gave a dominant majority to the Democratic
Party.
